Femme Fatale, a remake of the 1998 French suspense comedy Serial Lover, revolves around
an offbeat series of mysterious murders that take place inside the house of a famous actress.
Directed by Kang Kyung Hoon in his first ever featured film, Femme Fatale won endorsement from
both critics and moviegoers with its witty, off-the-wall tales. Femme Fatale features the same successful comic ingredients as the original film which won a string of international awards, but brings some local flavor to the plot by adding humor more familiar to Korean audiences. The mystery novel writer of the original film is now a famous actress played by Ye Ji Won (Old Miss Diary). The same formula of bizarre, dark humor that highlighted 1998's The Quiet Family is also applied in Femme Fatale which combines romance, suspense,
and comedy.
Actress Ye Ji Won (Ye Ji Won) is at the peak of her career. With her mainstream popularity built upon her innocent, good-girl, on-screen image, living under the constant spotlight can be quite stressful. One Christmas Eve, the actress receives news of her nomination in the Best Actress category at the Cannes Film Festival. As she returns home fantasizing about the glitzy night filled with red carpets, a group of unexpected guests barge into her house - playboy Dennis, gangster Choi, Professor Yoo, and film director Park. Mysteriously, these four men are
murdered one by one and Ye and her manager carefully dispose the dead bodies. But more and more strangevisitors come knocking at her door. Can the actress save her reputation by putting an end to this madness?
